The Bachelor? Ride Like the Wind, Ladies!

Let us weigh in on The Bachelor debate, bicycle babes.

No one has mentioned the fact that this is one of the few times in human history when we are witness to a man behaving like a damsel in distress and wooing women by fluttering his ‘multi-colour’ eyes.

Thanks, Lana, for pointing that out, again!

There almost isn’t a single moment in history when men have wanted, never mind volunteered, to be fought over. It is a grown man’s instinct to want to prove his prowess with women, not the other way around.

Bicycling in winter has a bad reputation, but it’s a bicycle myth that needs to be debunked because with the right fashion and accessories cycling right through winter is wonderful!

An amazingly simple winter bicycling fashion solution is wool leggings. There are lots of styles out there, but one of my favorite are by Melbourne designer, Pulka.

The Good:
1. Warm – these were amazing! Tested in Melbourne’s extreme cold snap, it was like bicycling in a warm spring breeze.

2. Fashion

The Simple City Solution We Hate to Love, But Love We Do!

Since its inception three years ago, The Zone has promoted ideas for change across a wide range of issues. Ahead of the looming federal vote, it will be focusing on policy ideas; think of it, if you will, as The Election Zone.

Transport policy involves all three tiers of government – federal, state and local – and is a pressing issue. Every morning and afternoon of every working week in every city in the country, millions of hours are wasted as car commuters sit in traffic jams, frustrated and fuming amid the fumes.

Debate rages over whether to invest billions of dollars of taxpayers’

I took a pair out for a spin and here’s how they stood up to the Bicycle Babe test.

The Good:
1. Fashion – yep, nothing better than legs that stop traffic.

2. Bespoke – you simply send in your favourite image, artwork or photograph and Lydra will turn them into a pair of leggings.

Essential Winter Bicycle Cuffs!

Bicycling in winter is wonderful, but only if you are well dressed!

I don’t mean dressed like Lenny Karvitz, just dressed smart, dressed sassy, and dressed in style.

One of my favourite winter bicycle accessories are wrist cuffs, or arm warmers.

They are simple, yet superb at keeping the warmth in and sealing out the cold where your coat sleeve ends and your winter gloves start.

They are perfect for early mornings, or late nights, when the wind chill is extra chilly, and they can be slipped on and off again with ease.

There is a bicycle myth that needs to be busted: bicycle lanes are bad for business.

People who ride bicycles are gainfully employed just like car drivers, except we don’t pay for petrol, parking, servicing, insurance or registration.

That’s an annual saving of a seriously large amount of money.

However, it seems to come as a surprise to some shop owners that we bicycle babes also like to buy stuff, and not just bicycle stuff.

On Sunday I took a trip down town with a friend only to discover the place was devoid of bicycle babes,

Why a Bicycle is the Best, and Only Alternative to Cars, Trains & Buses!

For a long forgotten, and clearly not good enough, reason I caught the train home last week.

Although this used to be a regular event, having not ventured there for about 3 years you forget what it’s like, and so last week’s foray was a serious shock to the system.

Firstly train travelers I have a question: you let someone else decided when you leave and arrive, and which route you take?

What The!

As if that wasn’t frustrating and demeaning enough, it turns out wasting my precious time waiting on the train was the least of my worries.
